Medica 2012 Report

Laird Technologies Medica 2012 Booth

Laird Technologies' CPBU® team exhibited at the Medica 2012 show in Dusseldorf, Germany this past month. For over 40 years, Medica has represented all elements of the global medical sector and 2012 was no different, with over 130,000 visitors and 4,554 trade exhibitors filling the 17 exhibition halls. CPBU used this platform to preview a range of new and in development products including the RAMP RM024 high output power Class 1 Bluetooth modules and Laird's first offering in Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) space. For more information on Bluetooth Smart and Bluetooth Smart Ready read our white paper, here.

CPBU utilized early prototypes of the BL600 single mode BLE module with smartBASIC to demonstrate, simple and easy to use wireless connectivity for heart rate and temperature sensors. The BLE module generated significant interest for the CPBU team and further underlined the growing demand for low power, standards based connectivity for a variety of medical sensors including blood pressure, heart rate, and pulse oximetry.
