No. The PRM240-R2 operates on our Server-Client FlexRF™ FHSS protocol (up to 230 kbps) rather than the legacy AC4x90 protocol. Legacy networks cannot communicate directly over-the-air with PRM nodes, and host software/framing must be updated to match the PRM protocol. The Peer-to-Peer protocol supported on the AC4790 is not supported.

No. The PRM240-R2 uses a different physical footprint and interface pinout than the AC4490 series. While it is a direct drop-in replacement for legacy LT1110/PRM240 pluggable U.FL designs, AC4490 customer layouts will require board-level hardware redesign or interface adaptation. The PRM240-R2 features an onboard U.FL connector for external antenna integration. Modular certifications cover a specific list of approved antennas. Using high-gain directional antennas (such as Yagi antennas) or custom antenna setups outside the approved list will require end-system regulatory testing.
